TOWING TIPS
Here are some tips to help you avoid getting your vehicle towed, and a few just in case you ever do.
Always keep an eye out for posted signage, such as permit parking only, loading zones, or restricted time limits that you can park in a certain area. Of course this will be different from location to location.

Keep your vehicle maintenance up to date. Keep the oil changed at regular intervals, make sure your tires are adequate for the roads and conditions you are travelling on. Make sure all of your liquids are topped off and replaced as part of your scheduled maintenance.  On a regular basis have your mechanic check your belts, spark plugs and other components, and tune ups to keep your vehicle running smoothly and not breaking down leaving you stranded and in need of a tow.

If for whatever reason you find yourself in a situation where you need a tow here are a few tips to make the process run a little smoother. When parking your vehicle try to remember to leave the wheels straight, if they are turned to one side or the other it will not allow your vehicle to be towed by the traditional way as both sets of tires will need to be lifted. Unless you are parked on a hill or incline try not to engage your emergency brake, this will lock the rear wheels and since the front wheels are also attached to the transmission this will again require both sets of wheels to be lifted, making the traditional tow obsolete.
